About Us

Jaybird is a group of dedicated and passionate community members who love history and understand the importance of capturing our generational ties to our community.

Our History

Based in Skippack Township, Pennsylvania the Jaybird Foundation was founded by Cortney Marengo and Sam Engle after collaborating on restoration projects through their board positions at the Skippack Historical Society.

The area is home to countless beautiful buildings, artifacts, and stories that embody the spirit of the region’s past, art, and culture. In 2024, after recognizing the urgent need to preserve the rich history and heritage of Montgomery County, a dedicated group of individuals came together to form a public charity focused on restoring historic properties and celebrating the culture of the community.

Focusing initially on Skippack Township, the group began researching properties with historical significance that were in need of renovation. Their mission was clear: to breathe new life into these structures while fostering community support for their preservation.

The foundation’s name, “Jaybird,” was chosen to reflect the values at the heart of the organization. Jaybirds are known for their intelligence, complex social structures, and tight family bonds—qualities that mirror the foundation’s commitment to family, community, and the preservation of history. Through this endeavor, the foundation strives to inspire and strengthen the ties that bind the people of Montgomery County.

Mission
The Jaybird Foundation is dedicated to fostering community engagement by restoring historically significant properties for adaptive reuse. Our goal is to revitalize these spaces, creating environments where businesses and organizations can engage with the community.

Vision
We envision a future where restored historical properties serve as vibrant spaces for community connection and appreciation. By preserving the past, we create opportunities for people to engage with culture and creativity in their local communities.
