Ways to Contribute

The Jaybird Foundation depends on the support of our volunteers and engaged donors to support our efforts to redevelop properties in the county.

Philanthropy

Restoring historical property takes a gallant effort from the community to donate their time and resources in order to get buildings up to code and ready for reuse. The Jaybird Foundation depends on the support of our volunteers and engaged donors to support our efforts to redevelop properties in the county. We have several ways for individuals, families, and companies to get involved.

Monetary Donations

The Jaybird Foundation thrives on the generosity and support of community members who contribute on a monthly or yearly basis. Your donations are crucial in sustaining our operations. These contributions help cover project management fees, utilities, and maintenance costs for the properties. Every donation, large or small, directly impacts our ability to preserve and revitalize historic properties for community use. Please contact us for more information!

General Donations

From $10 to $10,000, whatever amount you choose, any and every contribution makes a difference in our ability to restore and repurpose historic properties for community use. DONATE NOW

Memorial or Honorary Donation

Making a gift to the Jaybird Foundation is a meaningful way to honor a loved one on a special occasion (wedding, birthday, holiday, etc.) or as a memorial. By honoring someone who has touched your life in this way, you are not only expressing your gratitude but also making a lasting impact on the preservation and revitalization of historic properties in the community. A tribute card will be sent to the special individual or the family specified by the donor on the donation form.

Matching Gifts Program

Double your donation by asking if your employer has a Matching Gifts Program. Many employers will match employees’ donations either “dollar for dollar” or a portion of your gift. So, remember to request a matching gift form from your employer. That easily, your gift could possibly be doubled!

Volunteer

We need volunteers to assist with a variety of tasks, including professional services, cleaning out properties, painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, and more, all contributing to the restoration of our buildings. No matter your skill level, there are many ways to make a difference. Your time and support help bring our vision to life and preserve the rich history of our community.

Call for Skilled Volunteers

The Jaybird Foundation is seeking skilled adult and retired volunteers to contribute their expertise to our restoration projects. Whether you have experience in marketing, strategic planning, development/fundraising, engineering, carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, architecture, project management, or any other trade, your skills are invaluable to our mission. As a skilled volunteer, you’ll play a critical role in preserving and revitalizing historic buildings, while making a meaningful impact on the community.

Corporate Volunteer Days

We also invite companies to engage in meaningful team-building experiences by hosting corporate volunteer days with us. Your company can join us in hands-on efforts to restore and preserve our community’s historic properties. It’s a great opportunity for your team to give back, work together on a rewarding project, and make a lasting contribution to the community. We welcome both small and large teams to participate in these impactful volunteer opportunities.

Call for Emerging Leaders

The Jaybird Foundation is excited to offer opportunities for emerging leaders to get involved and make a difference in the community. We welcome students, scout troops, and young adults to engage in meaningful service through:

  • Student Service Hours: High school and college students can earn service hours while contributing to the restoration of historic properties and supporting our mission.
  • Scout Troop Projects: Scout troops are invited to collaborate with us on community service projects that align with their service requirements and help preserve local history.
  • Internships: We offer internships for high school and college students interested in gaining hands-on experience in fields such as project management, construction, architecture, history, and nonprofit operations.

These opportunities provide invaluable experience and a chance to give back while learning new skills and leadership. Whether you are completing service hours or seeking a deeper involvement, your contributions will have a lasting impact on both your development and the community.
